Course Aims

To deepen delegates’ skills in using Microsoft Project to manage more complex project schedules, with a focus on resource allocation, tracking, and reporting.

Course Prerequisites

Completion of the Introduction course or equivalent experience is recommended, including familiarity with task creation, dependencies, and basic resource management in Microsoft Project.

To participate fully in this course, delegates will need the desktop version of Microsoft Project installed on their laptop or desktop PC. This is essential to complete the hands-on practical exercises throughout the session.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:

  • Utilise advanced scheduling tools, including task constraints, deadlines, and the critical path.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and perform resource levelling across tasks.
  • Establish and track project baselines to monitor project progress accurately.
  • Generate and interpret various project reports, customised to stakeholder needs.
  • Apply cost management tools, including budget tracking and forecasting capabilities
